We’re Ford people, not Cadillac people. This week, I unearthed that message deep in my psyche when I was gathered with three other men for an iGroup retreat in Seattle.

As I did my work, men reminded me to “Take a breath.” As I would inhale deeply I was able to become more present with my feelings, in my mind I could clearly see what was happening, and I was able to see the cost and the benefits of this belief.

This block is not magically resolved. It’s a profound block to me living my purpose and my financial success. I’ve got a lot more work to do.

Hit Reply, Do you feel blocked from fully living your purpose, but don’t know why?

What’s the Source

Here’s an exercise you can do to uncover the source of a block. You can do this alone or with a friend or partner.

Grab your journal, notebook, or some paper, you’ll need it at the end. Taking a breath over and over again during this process can:

  • Calm your nervous system.
  • Help you to focus.
  • Allow you to manage uncomfortable feelings, memories, and situations.
  • Bring clarity.
  • Assist in breaking behavior patterns.

Begin by allowing yourself to feel blocked. As you do around fully living your purpose.

Take a breath.

Notice the qualities and sensations of your block. Describe them out loud.
