On Father’s Day
Hello Boysen,
Tomorrow is Father’s Day in the United States. It’s a day that some of us celebrate with our families, and a day that many of us carry with pain. I celebrate with bitter-sweetness, honoring the work and love that my Dad gave and also acknowledging some of the painful realities of my past, events that nonetheless shaped the man, and the Dad, that I am to my own children.
On Father’s Day – I will sit with gratitude for the relationship I have with my Dad today, and grief for father-figures I have lost in the last 2 years. On Father’s Day, may we each connect with the wise, nurturing, and present Father archetype we carry, no matter what we have known in the past.
Happy Father’s Day,
Boysen
