ManKind Project “Fund the Plan” Donor Prospectus

WHAT:

The functional professionalization, regional consolidation and community rejuvenation plan for 2011/2012. Based on a 28 to 1 (with 1 abstention) vote the MKP- USA Center Council recommended that the MKP-USA Council approve the Reorganization and Consolidation Proposal in principle. The MKP-USA Council has declared its readiness to consolidate some core organizational functions and pursue the re-creation of MKP-USA. The purpose of this plan is to enable a quantum leap in the organization’s effectiveness at bringing men into our trainings and circles, so that we can make a tangible positive impact upon our society.

  • Professional Staffing – hire highly professional MKP-USA Staff; Most critically, an Executive Director with deep professional experience and proven track record leading and funding a large nonprofit. (We currently have an agreement with such an individual found by our search team – we wait only to reach our base financial goal and complete the hiring process)
  • Contract based financial services through a professional CPA firm rather than one employee; consolidate primary financial functions to MKP USA rather than duplicating effort and expense across the project.
  • Hire professional IT position and Implement software systems to professionalize our member relationship cycle through consolidated member communications
  • Hire professional Development Director to manage Membership, fundraising, estate and legacy giving.
  • Hire professional Marketing Director and implement person to person and social media based marketing plans. Produce ‘narrowcast’ marketing tools, generate PR through service efforts, participation in national conferences and media production.
  • Create new funding streams by developing additional trainings for all ages and stages of a man’s life.
  • Create introductory events which provide solid value to participants and MKP Membership while strengthening brand awareness and driving enrollment in the NWTA and participation in IGroups.
  • Develop and support a national campaign of Open Circles to offer free or low cost facilitated peer-support groups to any man, regardless of participation in the New Warrior Training Adventure. Develop recognized certification track for Group Facilitation.
  • Refocus our Centers on building community and supporting I-Groups. Develop a recognized certification track for I-Group facilitation.

What the Central Plains Community is saying.

WHY:

The ManKind Project has created trainings and groups that are powerful, effective and proven over two and a half decades. We have positively changed the lives of over 45,000 men. In 2010 we adopted a Vision that includes a goal of 1,000,000 men in MKP facilitated circles. In order to meet this audacious goal, we need to correct fundamental flaws in our existing structure while enhancing the effectiveness of what we do best.

  • Cultural change is a matter of impact. We need effective infrastructure to impact the lives of the largest number of people possible.
  • Centers need to be free to do what they do best; bring together men in circles and run trainings to support and challenge those men to their next level of growth. Too much of our volunteer energy is spent on functions that could more effectively be managed by a professional staff.
  • The world needs this work. The sustainability of the most positive movements afoot in the world will depend on our ability to do personal ‘work’ and develop the skills necessary to integrate head and heart – to resolve conflict with grace and to inspire service from a grounded sense of mature love and purpose. MKP teaches integrative skills to help missions flourish.

WHEN:

The ‘Fund the Plan’ Initiative is underway now. Some of the planned structural changes are already being implemented. The intention is to have the funding secured by the end of the 2nd Quarter, 2011.

WHERE:

Men from across the United States are actively engaged in making ‘Fund the Plan’ a success.

The ManKind Project supports a global network of peer-facilitated men's groups where men mentor men through the passages of their lives. The ManKind Project empowers men to missions of service, supporting men to make a difference in the lives of men, women, and children around the world. We help men through any transition, men at all levels of success, men facing almost any challenge. Our flagship training, described by many as the most powerful men's training available, is the New Warrior Training Adventure.
